Why does the Image capture size, Frame rate, and Max bit rate of an i-PRO camera change after setting?

  • Network Recorders
  • Specification

Problem Description

Image capture size, Frame rate, and/or Max bit rate is configured on an i-PRO camera.

After some time, the values change. The configuration does not hold, or it seems that the camera is defaulting its values.

In case the camera is registered to an NX or NV recorder, the NVR will keep sending certain parameters to the camera, such as Image capture size, Frame rate, and/or Max bit rate.

The following NVR’s push changes to the cameras:
WJ-NX400 / WJ-NX300 / WJ-NX200 / WJ-NV300 / WJ-NV200

These parameters should be configured on the NVR, not the camera. Refer to the following NVR menu:

NVR Setup > Rec & Event > Recording Setup > Recording Setup, click Setup

Locate camera(s) of interest, and under the following columns, set the parameters accordingly:

・Image Capture Size - this affects the camera’s Resolution (Image Capture Size)
・Rate - this affects the camera’s Frame Rate
・Quality - in combination with the previous 2 parameters, this affects the camera’s Max Bit Rate

The values programmed here will be automatically pushed to the cameras
